Amazing!
The Duran Duran show was the best.
They played some rare songs like "Hold Back The Rain" and "Tiger Tiger"...finishing the set with "Rio"...which was rocked out a bit more. The only mishap was Andy Hamilton getting center stage to play the "Rio" solo, only for his solo to not be heard due to gear troubles...Simon Le Bon tried to save the day by running from behind stage and holding his mic to the sax, but by this time the solo was pretty much over. Andy Taylor rocked...I've never seen him play guitar like that in Duran Duran. He got to show his stuff, unlike the early years where they were more snyth. "Careless Memories" was a highlight for me...Not only cuz Andy Taylor shredded, but because it's always been a fave Duran Duran tune of mine.
The opening band Clear Static was awesome as well...very 80s influenced with a touch of Duran Duran and The Cure, with the guitar effects of A Flock of Seagulls meets Ultravox. The show-goers were blown away by this young and talented band.
Ace Show!
